ASB has been an incredibly proud supporter of the Starship Foundation for more than 27 years, since the hospital first opened its doors to help New Zealand families in 1991.

Since then, we have made significant contributions to medical research and important building projects along with the support of generous ASB customers across the country. This includes what I consider to be one of the highlights of our partnership - the funding of the new Children’s Emergency Department waiting and assessment area at Starship, which was launched in May 2018.

We wanted to mark the longstanding partnership in a way that would benefit Kiwi kids and families for years to come, and to help make what is often a hugely stressful time, a little bit easier. With the help of our customers, more than $1 million was raised to make this special new waiting area a reality.

ASB continues to work closely with Starship across a wide range of activities and events, with its staff also contributing via ASB Payroll Giving and fundraising initiatives.

The work that Starship and the wider team do for young New Zealanders is incredible, and we have a huge amount of respect for them.
