Fundraiser a SKY-High Success
SKY subscribers raised a whopping $43,250 for Starship's Air Ambulance service during a dedicated month of fundraising in September.
For the entire month, SKY customers could upgrade to a range of popular SKY channels for just $5 knowing that every cent raised goes to support the hospital, in particular the National Air Ambulance, of which SKY is the key sponsor and provides funding, clothing and snack packs for the flight team. Customers could choose from six much-loved channels - SoHo, SKY Sport, Country TV, Arts, Rialto and, if they subscribe to Sky Sport, Rugby channel.
I'm so proud of all of SKY's customers and staff who have played a major role in supporting Starship for almost 16 years. It's amazing knowing they are 100% behind the Starship Foundation, ensuring it is able to continue to provide the best possible outcomes for our children and young people during their stay in hospital.
In the past four years alone, SKY has provided more than $320,000 worth of support to help improve the lives of young Starship patients. The funding has provided support in numerous ways including the renovation of Starship facilities, the purchase of hundreds of pepi-pods to help protect newborn babies and a mobile telemedicine for unit for PICU.
The generosity of our customers has always been incredible when it comes to supporting these campaigns. And our staff are right behind Starship too, often giving up their weekends to help out
Starship Foundation Chief Executive Brad Clark says: "SKY's ongoing support is an essential part of our fundraising and is greatly appreciated. The Starship National Air Ambulance is a lifeline for families around the country and we couldn't operate this service without the help of our Five Star Partners such as SKY."
SKY has been fundraising for the hospital since 2001 and helps fund hospital upgrades and new medical equipment, provides free SKY TV to every patients room, brings athletes and characters in to visit patients and is a key supporter of the Starship National Air Ambulance and its crew. Additionally SKY provides extensive support for the Foundation' regular fund-raising events, including donating high-value auction packages.
