"Connecting the dots: Developmental health inequities in early childhood from Growing Up in NZ"

This presentation will review why the study of developmental health inequities in early childhood is an important but challenging task, and share findings from Jin’s research with Growing Up in NZ into multimorbidity and early developmental health trajectories.

Presenter: Dr Jin Russell, Developmental Paediatrics Medical Officer, Starship

Jin Russell is a Developmental Medical Officer at Starship Child Health with research interests in early child developmental health, life-course epidemiology and the social determinants of health. Her PhD research is nested within Growing Up in NZ, a diverse, contemporary New Zealand child cohort. Her research seeks to investigate how gaps in developmental health emerge over time in a cohort of young NZ children and the socioenvironmental patterning of these trajectories. Jin is an advanced trainee in Community Child Health and General Paediatrics.
