Babies don't need baby walkers - OUT OF STOCK

[Pamphlet, 2005]

This A5 pamphlet has messages on both sides.

Injuries from baby walkers can be permanent. Babies in baby walkers have fallen, been burned and have poisoned themselves.

The best place for babies to learn to crawl and walk is on the floor.

Baby walkers are not baby minders and supervising them doesn't mean you can stop an injury. It's better not to have one at all.

Safe As Houses Recommendations

Safe As Houses: Recommendations for child safe rental properties in New Zealand. This recently-revised publication gives rental property owners and managers an overview of child unintentional injuries in New Zealand and how to prevent them. Between 2012-2016 an average of 36 children aged 0 to 14 years died each year from unintentional injuries sustained in a home environment.

Children aged 0 to 4 years accounted for 32 (90 percent) of
these deaths per year and over a five-year period to 2018, a total of 12,618
children aged between 0 to 14 years were admitted to hospital due to suffering
an unintentional injury within the home environment.

In ‘Safe As Houses’ we offer owners and managers a set of recommendations that, taken together and over time, should reduce what is an unacceptably high burden of child injury in New Zealand.
