The Starship RESEARCH office are here to help researchers across the directorate in establishing and conducting research. The team can help you to identify the relevant resources, connect with experts, and understand processes and best practices for performing research at Starship.
Key Activities:
Pre- and post-award support including grant development, budget preparation and identification of funding opportunities.
Clinical research biostatistician expertise to support study design, statistical analysis and manuscript preparation - see Starship Clinical Research Biostatistics service.
Feasibility assessment to evaluate suitability of research and identify potential roadblocks to successful research delivery.
Identifying potential collaborators and clinical support services/resources within the organisation and externally.
Support commercial study activity from expression of interest and feasibility to site initiation.
Delivery of research via Clinical Research Practitioner and Senior Trial Research Co-ordinator roles to support commercial and investigator-initiated research.
Guidance on research governance processes and regulatory requirements
Support with ethics applications and other external regulatory submissions
Preparation of commercial and A+ study budgets signatures and submissions and ongoing research project financial management.
Review of clinical trial agreements and contracts.
Database development and clinical research management via RED-Cap and EDGE
Tissue bank and Genomics governance guidance
Recruitment support and strategies
Data extraction and validation support
