Blood tests, X-ray and other imaging

Blood tests

Your child may require a blood test in our Outpatient Collecting Rooms. These are now located on Level Three of the Starship building, opposite the Outpatient Reception.

If your child is anxious about having a blood test, let a staff member know as soon as possible. There are a number of ways we can help to make the blood test a little easier.

Our staff are skilled in these procedures and will do their best to make this a positive experience.

Outpatient Collecting Rooms are open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.15pm.

X-Ray and other imaging

Starship Child Health has a Paediatric Radiology department located on Level One of Starship Hospital.  The department provides a 24 hour, 7 days a week service for children who are in hospital and patients from the Emergency Department.

Outpatient visits are scheduled between 8.30 am and 4 pm on weekdays.

In addition to x-ray facilities we provide ultrasound, a CT scanner, an MRI and a Cardiac Investigations room.
