Whare Kahikā is an app giving whānau knowledge to create a safe physical home environment for tamariki.
Whare Kahikā is another term for ancestral home. It represents the inherent qualities in Māori knowledge systems and customs. These qualities inform safety mechanisms for whānau, hapū and iwi.
More than 200 children are hospitalised (24 hours or more) every month as a result of unintentional injuries sustained in the home.
